Reviews

Where aspiring and junior lawyers learn, practise and grow

Joe Pursehouse

Pupil Barrister

"I'm writing to share some good news: I have received an offer of pupillage.   This is an amazing opportunity for me, and I wanted to extend my thanks to you and the team at Advocacy Club for all that you have done to support my development as an advocate over the last two years.   As a non-student career changer, I simply would not have had the opportunities to practice and compete without the existence of your Club.   The AC is one of a kind and I know I will be recommending it to any aspiring barristers I come across for many years to come."

Aaron Bennion

Law Graduate

"I value the relaxed and friendly nature of the Advocacy Club community. It has a laid back atmosphere where all the materials are provided for you, so you can always have a go at the activity, regardless of your experience level. Alternatively, you can observe the session and really learn from your peers, who are very supportive. Everyone is always willing to help and the advice from the Speed Mooting team at the end of the meetings is always invaluable.

It's a great way to learn more about legal advocacy and increase your public speaking and debating skills, all in a low pressure environment. You can make mistakes, learn from them and grow your confidence massively"

Sharon Henkel

Transferring Lawyer & Bar Graduate

“The Advocacy club has been invaluable in building both my skills and confidence.

Meeting fellow members, especially the wonderful women also pursuing law has been

inspiring. We share advice, encouragement, and practical insights, which is especially

valuable if you are new to the UK legal system.

I would recommend the club to anyone who wants to grow their confidence, practise advocacy in a safe space, and be part of a

supportive network that celebrates learning together"
